The centrally located cities within the United States need to have writers supported and acknowledged. So many writers haven’t been recognized for a very long time. So many lost profits for freelance writers have become lost profits for major studios who rely on the same writers. Guilds with thousands of writers will have less of an imagination than guilds with millions of creative writers. Belonging to a union that supports your own decisions is important. How you get paid is your prerogative. In business it comes down to making the deal which everyone is happy with. Television and film studios can negotiate with freelance writers willing to set their own price. Not every piece of writing has the same dollar value which is very important in how each writer is treated differently in valuation of products.
